The musts are very aromatic and quickly take on dark colours. Fermentations proceed effortlessly, the fruit and the perfect tannic structure are immediately felt during the first tastings. The vinification took place in ideal conditions. The musts were aromatic, with the extraction being carried out very gently. The wines were concentrated, balanced and harmonious. The first blends show a remarkably fruity and complex wine. In the end, all the criteria were gathered for a great vintage of Siran.

The harvest ended with the Cabernet Sauvignon in the first half of October. The 2017 grapes were rich in anthocyanins. The vinification was done quickly. And without difficulty. Without being a monster of power, this wine will be the embodiment of the sweetness, balance and pleasure that a great Margaux can bring. The 2017 vintage looks very good and we have made our best vintage in 7 since 1947!

The musts were colourful, dense, rich and had a nice volume in the mouth. They were immediately very aromatic, on the fruit with rich and melted tannins, and a very nice alcohol-acidity balance. The result is a great vintage, as good as the 2015, but in smaller quantities. The wines are even more concentrated and more complex than those of the 2015 vintage, while retaining the lightness typical of Siran.

The weather in September and October was very conductive to the ripening of the grapes: sunny during the day and cool at night. The harvest finally took place less early than expected: we took advantage of this beneficial period to refine the tannins of the skins. The fruit was harvested intact.
